Show me the results of D3K2 in a human body?

D3K2 is a gene that codes for an enzyme known as deoxycytidylate deaminase (dCD). The enzyme dCD is involved in the repair of DNA damage, specifically the repair of uracil bases that have been incorrectly inserted into the sequence. Studies in humans have shown that individuals with reduced expression of the D3K2 gene are more likely to develop certain types of cancer, as the DNA repair pathway is impaired. In addition, mice models with reduced expression of the D3K2 gene have demonstrated increased sensitivity to DNA damaging agents such as radiation.
